Back in 1906, The Legend of Sara de Soto was told by George Chapline. In this story, it tells us about the forbidden love between a Spanish settler and an Indian chief. The story begins with Chichi Okobee, the prince and heir to the Black Seminole Warriors, who later meets the Spanish princess Sara. From here a tragic love story begins.

The Scottish "Ormiston Colony"

In Scotland, fliers about Florida were passed out. People picked these up and were mesmerized by how life was like there. Soon later, they formed a group named the Ormiston Colony and set out to Sarasota. As they arrived, they had realized nothing had been built and the fliers were to get more colonizers.
